Public Records Requests

section-break

All of the records maintained by the Southern Essex District Registry of Deeds are public record and all records - from the first in 1640 to the present day - are available to be viewed, downloaded, and printed on our website free of charge or in person at the Registry. You can access the records from our homepage either using the simplified Homeowner’s Search or the advanced Search Our Records page.

For assistance finding your record you can contact our Customer Service team by phone at 978-542-1704 Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm or by email.

The main function of the Registry of Deeds is to maintain and provide access to public records; therefor requests for documents do not necessitate a formal Public Records Request unless the request is for data extractions beyond the normal use of our website or physical records.

A written request is not required, but we do recommend making your request in writing as it will help to expedite your request.
